Many window tint companies are turning to window tint softwares to increase the efficiency of their operations. Window tint softwares can be separated into two main categories, software used to cut / plot window film, PPF, vinyl, etc and software used to manage operations, such as quoting, scheduling, project management, and automations such as review requests, appointment reminders, and follow ups.
The term computer cut comes from the process of using a computer and plotter to cut window tint as opposed to using a blade and cutting the tint by hand. To do this, you need a window tint software that has patterns. Those patterns are created by the window tint software provider and unique to their software. A precise pattern will make for a perfectly tinted window and a poorly designed pattern will be a waste of window tint so when computer cutting window tint, accuracy of the pattern software is very very important. Most plotter window tint software allow the user to adjust the pattern and save that change for future cuts.
Most window tint plotter softwares offer a free trial so that you can test it out and make sure it meets your needs and expectations. DAP by XPEL, Core Cutting Software for Window Film and PPF, 3M Pattern Software are examples of window tint plotter softwares that offer a free trial; there are many more.

I do graphics and print banners etc most time and do to the fact that im way to slow hand cutting the film (takes me about 4+ hours to do a car i know super slow) most the time i spend it doing the cuts. where can I find some disc with vectorized images of stuff that's "IN" now, like Imprt tuner stuff, sport teams, u know all the cool stuff that everyone wants,,I purchased some of the Vector art collection from uscutter and some of its pretty useable but nothing the young crowd is into, I have a window tinting bizz and last year I purchased a cutter and really need to get more money flow coming in with it, ANY SUGGESTIONS??????
I bought this plotter brand new, I have big hope that this will help me out a lot with tinting cars. Now the problem is how do I set up the blade, how much blade should show, and what should be the cutting pressure for 1.5 mil 2 ply 5% 15% 20% 35% and 50%. I noticed that some tint esp the lighter ones cut easy but the darker ones doesn't. Please advise.
Hey everybody. I am contemplating using a computer cut system to start cutting film. I have been tinting for about 12 years now, and want to get peoples feedback about this . If you are currently cutting on a plotter , has it been good for your business ? What are some of the drawbacks ? I am looking at buying a 40" graphtec plotter and I will most likely be using precision cut from LLumar. I have some concerns because I am tinting anywhere from 20-60 Volkswagen's a month. Any feedback would be appreciated , and thanks in advance.
Hey guys. I need a 2009 Nissan 370Z template. I'm doing graphics for a Navy vet's car this Memorial weekend. If anyone could help me out I'd appreciate it. My email is streetstyletint@yahoo.com. Thank you!!
I've done PPF for years and just started to get into tinting. I learned to tint free hand but am much quicker using patterns. For some reason, I just can't find the sweet spot in my plotter to cut tint. It either is just scoring the film or cutting all the way through. I have a roll of 3M ST that for some reason is the only tint that plots well but still requires some extra cutting when weeding it. I'm having the biggest problems with SunGard and some generic roll of crap I got for free with my tint class. FWIW, I'm using around 2oz of pressure and a 60 deg blade.
Hello everybody ! This is my first post which is pretty cool . Well in want to know if anybody has used either or of these programs, and if y'all have can I get some opinions for the pre cut tint, ppf?
My laptop was stolen with my copy of this program in it. Thankfully I had the FOB. SW won't work with me on a replacement they want MORE money for it. I was hoping someone could burn me a copy or send me one. Please let me know. Thanks. jeff@columbiaglasstinting.com
Ok I am looking to purchase a plotter to use with tint tek. Is there any reason I cant buy a smaller plotter just to cut side windows or would it be better to just go ahead and get a 40" to cut everything. The reason I am asking is because a friend of mine is going to give me a good deal on a used machine, but it is only a 36".
Has anyone used Sunteks Tru-cut for tint patterns? If so, what do you think? How do the patterns fit compared to other programs? And is there a large library of vehicles? Thinking of switching from tint-tek because I don't use the PPF templates and the windshield templates are very poor in my opinion. 2ff7e9595c
